Kinship care services is partnering with Child Crisis Arizona to present Promoting Secure Attachment, an educational workshop. We will discuss how secure attachment is the foundation for healthy relationships throughout life, as well as explore parenting strategies and interactions to foster healthy attachment with your children. This workshop will be on Zoom so you must have a phone, tablet, or computer to participate. Registration is required with with Child Crisis Arizona; you’ll receive a link once you register with us.

Kinship care services will host the second session in a series of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) trainings. In this session we will review toxic stress and trauma informed care approaches. Toxic Stress and Trauma Informed Care includes an overview of the types of stress we all experience, focusing specifically on toxic stress and the connection between unresolved trauma, risky behaviors, and coping mechanisms. This workshop series will be in person at the Duet office in the Mariposa Room. Reservations are required and space is limited.
When: Saturday, June 11
Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. workshop, then lunch from 12 – 1 p.m. (materials and lunch will be provided)

Presented by Ramonalisa Parham, we will discuss how stress affects all aspects of our lives, including parenting. We will explore healthy strategies to manage stress and create a plan to enhance your current parenting practices. It’s no secret the past two years have been difficult for everyone: from the war, the pandemic, racial tension, and gun violence. It can be tough to know how to respond to these types of situations — especially when it comes to having these hard conversations with our children.
Join us, and others like you with questions about how to best help their families. Life Coach, Rebekah Keizer MA, BCC and Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Training, Allie Johnson will share age-appropriate ways to have those discussions and helpful tools to cope with the stress and anxieties that you and your kids may be facing. Space is limited. Reservations are required.

Presented by Maria Soto, this workshop will provide you with a better understanding of how to influence your teen to have healthy teen dating relationships while also learning the signs of dating violence. Kinship Care Services will host its third session in a series of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) trainings. Presented by Lisa McCormick, the third session in this series will discuss information to help you recognize and promote resilience, as well as shifting perspectives to focus on a strengths-based approach. Participants will understand and gain tools to promote the principles of the Strengthening Families ™ Protective Factor Framework and review the principles of trauma-informed care. Finally, participants will discuss post-traumatic growth, its importance in healing trauma and factors that lead to post-traumatic growth. This workshop series will be in-person at the Duet office in the Mariposa Room. Space is limited. Reservations are required.
