Start the new year with a caregiver matinee showing of What They Had, starring Hilary Swank and Blythe Danner. This is an inspirational, heartbreaking, and funny movie based on the true life experience of director Elizabeth Chomko’s family while caring for her grandmother who was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. In the film, which focuses on caregivers, Bridget (Hilary Swank) returns home to care for her mother Ruth (Blythe Danner), who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Bridget and her brother have to deal with the tough decision of whether to place their mother in a memory care facility or keep her at home with her doting husband Bert (Robert Foster). This movie will make you laugh as much as it will make you cry! Free on-site adult day care for loved ones will be available for the duration of the event, provided by Beatitudes at Home.
