Our presenter, Laura Hales, curator of learning and innovation at Scottsdale Arts, will share findings from current research on how art contributes to well-being, and she’ll demonstrate a few simple activities you can do another time with your loved one.

She’ll also provide information about the Memory Lounge, a monthly arts experience for people with memory loss and their caregivers. The program invites participants to enjoy visual art, dance, theatre, and music, while each visit includes an interactive tour of the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

Kinship Care Services is partnering with Child Crisis Arizona to present an educational workshop called, Managing Stress as a Parent. Presented by Ramonalisa Parham, we will discuss how stress affects all aspects of our lives, including parenting. We will explore healthy strategies to manage stress and create a plan to enhance your current parenting practices. This workshop will be on Zoom so you must have a phone, tablet, or computer to participate. Registration is required with both Duet and Child Crisis Arizona; once you register with us, you’ll receive a link to register with Child Crisis Arizona.

Kinship Care Services is inviting all grandfamilies to the Arizona Museum of Natural History in Mesa. Grandfamilies will get the chance to explore and learn about the natural and cultural history of the Southwest. The Museum is the premier natural history museum in Arizona. Where else can you see a flash flood cascading down a three-story mountain inside a museum? It’s your chance to see Tom the soft-shelled turtle and a live Gila monster. Experience a real territorial jail, pan for gold in the History Courtyard, and wend your way through the Lost Dutchman’s Mine. Check out the Exploration Station for a hands-on adventure for all ages. Space is limited, reservations and intakes are required.
