The book for our next discussion is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. The author, a spiritualist, reveals the source of self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. 1) Be Impeccable with Your Word. 2) Don’t Take Anything Personally. 3) Don’t Make Assumptions. 4) Always Do Your Best.
The discussion will be facilitated by Deanne Poulos.
We won’t always focus on books about caregiving, rather we’d like to explore self-help books together to bolster one another and ourselves. Anyone is welcome.

We have seen many caregivers mourn the loss of their loved ones, which has prompted us to offer a new group for you who have entered the next phase – a grief support group.
Our facilitator is Rev. James Meadows. Jim also participates in Duet support groups as he is a caregiver for his wife. His experience as a caregiver, as well as a counselor, combined with his introspective and reflective demeanor, render him an empathetic group facilitator.
The grief group, like all Duet services, is non-sectarian. The meetings are in-person, the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month, 10 – 11:30 a.m., at the Duet office, 10000 N. 31st Ave., Suite D200, Phoenix. The first meeting will be held August 26. Please contact Janet Richards f you are interested in attending at richards@duetaz.org.

Duet trains faith community nurses through the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course. The American Nurses Association (ANA) defines Faith Community Nursing (FCN) as “the specialized practice of professional nursing that focuses on the intentional care of the spirit as part of the process of promoting wholistic health and preventing or minimizing illness in a faith community.”
With the support of a generous grant from Dignity Health®, Duet is proud to present the Fall 2022 Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course. The Fall 2022 course is a five day, hybrid course taking place in late September/early October. It will be offered on a virtual platform. The course is based on the curriculum developed through the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing, a ministry of Church Health Center.
